Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Release Date

The release date for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game for the Nintendo Switch was recently announced. The release date is currently set for April 28th, 2017.

This game is a highly anticipated title for the Nintendo Switch. The game will include all of the content from the original Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U including all the Downloadable Content including maps, characters, and karts. Along with that four new characters, the inklings from Splatoon will be joining in this updated version of the game. King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr., some of the fan favorites, will also be returning. There will be two new maps Urchin Underpass based off of Splatoon, and Battle Stadium will be based on Pokemon. There will be 2 returning maps as well Luigi’s Mansion from the GameCube version of MarioKart as well as Battle Course 1 from the Super Nintendo version.

The game will have four players multiplayer split screen in 1080p High Definition. Local wireless multiplayer will allow eight players and twelve players with online multiplayer. There is an updated battle mode. The new Smart Steering function will help kids and new players are able to play and stay on course with ease. There will also be three new karts. You will be able to carry two items at a time. The Boo item which allows you to steal other items and the feather which allows you to jump higher will be returning.

The game will be only available on the Nintendo Switch. This game will likely push more Nintendo Switch sales and allow it to be a successful console. The Nintendo Wii U had issues with not having enough games at the launch.  However, this will add to the growing launch window games list which includes multiple third-party games.

I myself will be buying the game and recommend any of you that own the Switch buy it as well.
